Barrel Tastings!
February 22 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Barrel Tastings Weekend
Venture into the cellar with Tim Jobe, our Winemaker, this weekend and next for a sneak peek of the Vintages to come. Tim will be pulling samples from barrels and tanks. The 2021 & 2022 harvests should prove to be outstanding wines when released. What’s a wine thief, you may ask? A wine thief looks like a long pipe and is made of glass, metal or plastic; different shapes and different sizes but usually long enough to put halfway into the barrel without losing the tool inside. The wine thief’s job is to “steal” wine from the barrel to test at different stages in the winemaking process.
Tim Jobe, our Winemaker, has been busily crafting and blending the 2021, 2022 & 2023 vintages. In anticipation of these soon to be released wines we will open our cellar to visitors for the last weekend of February. Venture into our barrel room with Tim, he will be pulling samples straight from the barrels for tasting. Bring a jacket…it’s chilly in the cellar. Cellar tastings times are 11am, 1pm & 3pm both days. Reservations are not required, and barrel tastings are free.
